Alice You're Killing Me by Cameron-Brideoake Alice You're Killing Me by Cameron-Brideoake
'Alice You're Killing Me'
Pencil and gouache paint

This piece was originally a submission for an Alice in Wonderland themed exhibition, which I had to pull out of only half way through completing. I posted a work in progress on facebook with the quote 'Alice you're killing me' and it became the title of the work. I have been suffering from chronic muscle inflammation which prevents me from doing much artwork, but I finally finished Alice after months of taking a rest and she made her debut at my solo exhibition 'Floating Worlds' at Espionage Gallery.

Thanks Asarx! I took a few reference photos to get the right pose. :) Thanks to my lovely poser for the 'looking up at the camera' idea.

The reference shot I took for this picture was taken from above looking down, I hope that comes across!

Beautiful.  I completely understand the title as I have lupus and it is affecting my nervous system, giving me with very painful muscle spasms at the most inappropriate times.  My eraser is now permanently next to me as I draw because of it.  And I had to buy backup erasers...

Glad she's finished and made your exhibition.  Congrats and I wish you the best.

So I'm sure you understand. But it's good to hear that you are persevering and finding ways to continue drawing!
